Marlow: Buckinghamshire’s Best Kept Village

This past Saturday, George and I felt like exploring a little to escape our messy apartment and extra long to-do list. We drove to the village of Marlow, which is only about 10 minutes from where we are, and spent the day there walking around and shopping. We had heard such good things about Marlow and it seems to be the general consensus that everyone wants to live in Marlow. It is Buckinghamshire’s best kept village, afterall.

We ordered the Afternoon Tea at a place called Burger’s Artisan Bakery and I finally tried some clotted cream with scones! It reminded me a bit of melted ice cream, but it was still delicious. We’ve decided to make it our mission to find the best Afternoon Tea around.

Really though, it was all just an excuse to take our new Mini out and drive it with the top down. I still can’t get over how warm it is here. Well, warm by comparison to a Michigan or Minnesota winter, both of which I have had to endure for many years. On our way home, we took the long way around through the countryside and down various single-track roads. We saw so many lovely places we’d like to have stopped, but the sun was starting to set already so they will have to wait for another day.
